A hotel guest in Taiwan recently left her accommodation with a bunch of things she shouldn’t have taken.
In a viral Facebook post by a Taiwanese travel vlogger, Fabian, he shared a viral conversation on WeChat between a hotel guest and her host in China, who politely reached out to the guest and asked her if she had taken some things out of the room.
The guest took all the alcohol from the minibar and a hairdryer thinking they were FREE
The bottles of alcohol she took were not cheap. The host told her that they cost more than RMB1,000 (approximately RM610). Fortunately, the guest understood and politely told the host to charge her the prices, admitting that she didn’t know the items were not on the house.
The woman also admitted to taking back the toiletries but that was NOT ALL she took home.
The woman said she had also taken the coffee machine from the minibar, which she had given to a friend.
Well, at least she was honest!
“I really thought everything fancy in the room was meant for the guest to take home,” she told the host.
Given the amount of additional charges, the host politely asked for the woman’s contact number so that the management of the hotel could contact her directly, to which the woman agreed.
In his post, Fabian also shared a little about his experience, where he has heard about influencers in Taiwan taking home the shower heads from hotel rooms.
“Please be clear about what you can and cannot take from the hotel. You should also check with the reception if minibar items can be taken,” Fabian reminded.
To those in the hotel management industry, what is the most bizarre experience that you have experienced with your guests?
