A heated dispute in Cheras saw an argument between a Vellfire driver and an elderly man that later escalated into a physical confrontation.
As previously reported, a bystander captured the incident, showing an elderly driver being berated by another man who hurled obscene remarks after the elderly driver allegedly tried to drive off following a minor fender bender.

The viral Vellfire driver who assaulted and threatened an elderly man in Cheras has been fined RM5,500
Following the incident, Kajang District Police Chief ACP Nazron Abdul Yusof confirmed that the 52-year-old suspect was arrested in Kajang and remanded for two days to assist with the investigation.
In a recent update, BERNAMA reported that the Magistrate’s Court sentenced the Vellfire driver to a RM5,500 fine after he pleaded guilty to two charges of causing injury and threatening to kill 70-year-old Liew Khoon Foo on 8 February (Sunday).
The father of four was ordered to serve eight months in prison if he fails to pay the fine.

According to the case facts, the incident began with a minor accident involving a Proton Wira driven by the victim and a Toyota Vellfire driven by Saiful Adli Yusof.
The victim continued driving to Taman Suntex out of fear, while Saiful Adli, who was following, reportedly stopped the car at a traffic light before kicking it.
When the victim got out of the vehicle, Saiful Adli punched and kicked him, causing injuries to his face, bruised eyes, a swollen chin, and a bleeding tongue, and also threatened him.

The suspect sought a reduced fine as he is the sole breadwinner who earns only RM2,000 a month
Saiful Adli was later charged with intentionally causing injury to the elderly man by punching and kicking his face and body on Jalan Cheras-Hulu Langat, Batu 9 Cheras.
The charge was filed under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum one-year jail term, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, if convicted. He was also charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum two-year jail term, a fine, or both for threatening someone at the same location.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Aida Afiqah Shaari called for an appropriate sentence to serve as a deterrent, while Muhammad Syakir Haznal, Saiful Adli’s lawyer, requested a minimum fine, saying his client had shown remorse and promised not to repeat the offence.
He added that his client earns RM2,000 a month and is the sole breadwinner, supporting his wife, four children aged between six days and 16 years, and his mother-in-law, who suffers from a chronic illness.
