Vellfire driver scolds an elderly man before assaulting him

In the video, a man can be heard hurling obscene remarks at the elderly driver after the latter allegedly attempted to flee following an accident.

The collision is believed to have involved both their vehicles. The man claimed he had instructed the elderly driver to stop, but the senior citizen initially continued driving.

Bystanders eventually stepped in to intervene after the man was seen kicking the elderly driver several times and hitting him on the head. One passerby had to physically restrain the aggressor to prevent further injury.

As the situation cooled down, a member of the public was heard advising the elderly man to head to the nearest police station to lodge a report.

The 52-year-old suspect has been arrested

Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Nazron Abdul Yusof confirmed that a report regarding the 8 February incident was filed by a 69-year-old man.

According to Harian Metro, the altercation was triggered by a minor accident involving the victim’s and the suspect’s vehicles.

“Following the report, the 52-year-old suspect was arrested at 11:30 PM last night in Kajang. He has been remanded for two days to assist with the investigation,” ACP Nazron stated.

He also noted that the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

Netizens started flooding the comment section with mixed reactions.

“He’s old already, there’s no need to hit him. If the man was just scolding, that’s fine. Now that the elderly stopped, he should’ve handled this calmly and talked it through.”

“What the man did isn’t worth it, especially since it could lead him to jail for 6 months.”

“He said he honked to signal the other person to stop, but the elderly man didn’t, so he chased after the elderly person until he caught up. But if the Wira car had stopped earlier, this probably wouldn’t have happened. There’s always room for common sense, no matter who’s involved, whether it’s an elderly person or anyone else. If you hit someone, just stop and sort it out safely on the side. Once anger takes over, anything can happen, regardless of who you’re dealing with.”

“We don’t know the full story, so it’s better to stay quiet. We weren’t in their situation. Sure, if it happened to us, we might have lost our temper too, even though we don’t know exactly what went on between them.”
