Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah received their first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine on 24 February, and both have reported that they are feeling well with no side effects.
Muhyiddin said in a Facebook post that everything is going well and believes that this is a “safe and effective vaccine”.
“So, many of you would like to know about my health condition today. Alhamdulillah, I feel healthy, there’s no fever, nothing out of the ordinary. I’m eating as usual and my appetite is also normal,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham also took to his Twitter to report that he is feeling healthy and has no symptoms after getting the vaccine as well.
“Thank God I am healthy after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine injection yesterday. There are no symptoms at all such as fever or pain. I have also updated the follow-up monitoring in the MySejahtera application,” he said.
He also told Astro Awani that he is able to perform his duties as usual.
Both Muhyiddin and Dr Noor Hisham is scheduled to receive their second dose of the vaccine on 17 March.
As a vaccine recipient, Muhyiddin added that he received various information about the vaccine through the MySejahtera application.
“That is why I urge once again for all to play their respective roles in supporting the efforts of the government and country for us to flatten the Covid-19 curve by registering ourselves to receive the injection, through the MySejahtera application,” he said.
“Wear a face mask, wash our hands as usual, observe physical distancing and do not go to crowded spaces — these we should continue to do even after we’ve been vaccinated.”
