The police made a recent discovery on November 6 regarding a missing bag that contained RM1 million in cash, which was reported to have gone missing at Ampang Point.
Ampang Jaya Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said they received the report at 3:55 PM about the missing money, which had been picked up by a security company from a bank at Ampang Point before it disappeared, as reported by Sinar Harian.
The bag was discovered on the road
In a recent update from Harian Metro, Deputy Selangor Police Chief Datuk S Sasikala Devi confirmed that the bag was found and handed over to the police.
She mentioned that the bag was discovered on Jalan Hulu Kelang, heading towards the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH) toward the capital shortly after the incident.
The investigation is still ongoing
Sasikala shared that the bag with the money is thought to have fallen onto the road when the security van went through a winding path.
“The van was on its way from Ampang Point to Kuala Lumpur. The bag with RM1 million dropped in the middle of the road and was later found by a driver passing by.”
The bag has been handed over to the police, and the investigation is still ongoing. They’re collecting statements from the person who found the bag and the staff from the security van.
Sasikala mentioned that the police are still in the early stages of the investigation and are gathering more info about what happened. So, stay tuned for more updates!
