Did you buy a Honda in the year 2018 or 2019? If you did, here’s a very important notice for you.

Several portals such as Harian Metro, FMT and The Star have reported that 55,354 Honda vehicles are being recalled to change the fuel pump as a precautionary measure. This doesn’t only affect Hondas bought in Malaysia but all Hondas globally. If you bought your Honda car in 2020 then there’s no need to worry.

This problem, although it hasn’t affected any cars in Malaysia yet, can possibly cause loss of engine power or vehicle stalling.

This is the list of cars affected by year.

2018

  • Accord, BR-V, Civic, CR-V, HR-V and HR-V Hybrid.

2019

  • City, City Hybrid, Jazz dan Jazz Hybrid and CR-V.

All affected customers will be informed via notification letters and they will need to contact authorised Honda dealers to schedule an appointment for the replacement. This process will be free of charge.

The Honda toll-free number is currently under maintenance so it’s best that you call any authorised dealers or check from their website here.

It’s always better to be safe rather than sorry!
