A fire that broke out at a store in the Sichuan city of Mianyang in China had made a boy’s day on January 12, as reported by Shanghaiist.

While no one was injured or killed, the fire made national headlines as the boy was recorded celebrating at the sight of the blaze.

“Our home is on fire. Great! I’ll throw my school bag in!” the mischievous kid said gleefully, while watching the fire from the street.

The fire department said that the store, where the boy and his family lived, caught fire due to weak wiring, with the total damage of over 14 square meters. The cause of the fire is under investigation, The Paper reports.

Chinese netizens took to social media site Weibo to have their share of laughs at the boy’s actions.

“Hahaha he really innocently thinks he does not need to do homework anymore!” said one netizen.

Meanwhile, other netizens pointed out that the boy was so naive to think that burning his bag would be the end of all his homework, commenting things like,

“The teacher watches this video, tears up feeling touched and have you make up for all your homework!”

“And then the fireman uncle happily saves the bag.”

“You think that by throwing your bag into the fire you do not need to study anymore?”
