It’s been a week since we welcomed the Year of the Dragon, but the CNY celebration is still ongoing and the Chinese community is expected to celebrate the season until next week.

The people around you during the celebration matter, and so does the place. Hong Kong actor Philip Keung celebrated CNY this year in Malaysia, and it wasn’t his 1st celebration here. Last year, Philip celebrated in Penang and promised that he would be back in Malaysia again this year for CNY.

He kept his promises and let’s just say that celebrating CNY in Malaysia gave him joy.

On one of his Instagram posts @black_gorgor a few days back, Philip revealed that he was back in Malaysia to promote his CNY movie – All In which is still in cinemas. Of course, he’s also back here for the CNY celebration, and he had something to say about the celebration here.

“Fantastic, as always.”

Philip, who loves Malaysia so much that he bought a house in Penang also celebrated Valentine’s Day here with his wife.

In another post this morning (February 18), Philip revealed that he celebrated CNY last night in Penang, and said it was exactly what he’s been looking for.

“This is the kind of festive atmosphere that I like. It’s so lively!”

In the clip, Philip was standing among the crowds who were observing the prayers outside a restaurant, and he had the honour of lighting up the firecrackers. Despite the noise, everyone at the scene was having fun.

With the CNY celebration still ongoing, how has yours been so far? Does it have the atmosphere you’re looking for?
