Less waste, more meaning

Now in its third year, the sustainable Ramadan initiative at Hilton Kuala Lumpur aims to reduce food waste with the introduction of its latest innovation: Keropok Citarasa Laut. This crispy golden cracker is crafted from repurposed seafood shells, thoughtfully cleaned, roasted, dehydrated, and ground into a flavorful powder before being blended with tapioca flour, coriander, oyster sauce, and white pepper. The dough is then steamed, sliced, and lightly fried to achieve its delicate crunch.

More than just a festive snack, Keropok Citarasa Laut represents the hotel’s ongoing commitment to sustainability through small-batch production, expanded live stations, locally sourced ingredients, and responsible waste diversion, showing that meaningful innovation can be both delicious and truly Malaysian.
