This teacher deserves to be celebrated.
A teacher in Perak dived into rapid currents to save four teen girls from drowning and being swept away.
According to both Sinar Harian and Harian Metro, Muhammad Nor Imran Maula Abd Jalil was driving beside a water canal yesterday at 12.20pm when he saw a girl drenched and trembling out of the bushes, calling for help. He stopped and asked her what the problem was.
“She asked me to save her friends and I rushed to the water canal. I saw two girls hanging onto a piece of wood while another two were struggling against the currents.”
Without a moment of hesitation, the 31-year-old dived into the water canal and swam to save the two girls who were being swept away by the currents. Just as he was moved them to a safer place, the other two girls lost grip of the piece of wood they were holding on to. He quickly jumped in and managed to hold onto their hands before they got swept away by the currents.
Fortunately, another passerby stopped to check out what happened and performed CPR on one of the girls who had fallen unconscious. All five girls were brought to the hospital.
“At that time I only thought about saving their lives, I was exhausted but I did not feel it.
After they were all safe, I felt relieved.”
It is understood that the 5 teens were in a Proton Saga together when the driver suddenly lost control and skidded into a water canal. The car had submerged while the girls escaped.
Those girls were definitely lucky that the teacher was nearby when this happened. We would like to thank him for saving those girls without a moment of hesitation!
