Individuals who are positive with Covid-19, but not in critical condition, will be allowed to vote in the 15th General Elections (GE15).
According to a report by Astro Awani, Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that, however, the individuals must adhere to strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) which will be announced by the Election Commission (SPR) later.
He informed that his party has met with SPR to recommend some suggestions to be included as SOPs to ensure that the elections runs smoothly and safely.
“There will be a special channel for those (positive for Covid-19) later, they will not be mixed with other people,” he said.
“The use of face masks and face protectors is also important in addition to sanitation. The use of complete personal protective clothing (PPE) is not recommended in the SOPs,” he added while attending the national World Sight Day 2022 celebrations.
We genuinely hope that everyone adheres to the SOPs (when they’re announced) while voting to prevent yet another outbreak of the virus.
Stay tuned for the Covid-19 patient voting SOPs.
