The Head Nurse from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) sadly passed away yesterday due to Covid-19.
The victim’s family, who wants to keep their identity anonymous, said she died at 10.15pm after being admitted to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital. “The deceased has two children who were previously admitted to the hospital on 7 December before they tested positive for the virus,” said the source to Harian Metro.
“The deceased was the Head nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the USM Hospital. Our family has accepted her death.”
The victim leaves behind her husband and two children who are still in quarantine. The 52-year-old’s death marks the sixth Covid-19 fatality in Kelantan. As many as 20 people were at her funeral to pay their respects including members of the Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department, members of the Kelantan Health Ministry, the HAZMAT team and a few family members.
Meanwhile, the Director of the State Health Department, Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin, said that the matter is still being investigated an official statement will be released once the process is complete.
