Govt Announces Free Tolls Nationwide on December 23 & 24 for Christmas Celebrations

Malaysians NEED NOT pay toll fares on Monday to Tuesday (December 23 to 24) in conjunction with the Christmas celebration on Wednesday.

Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi announced that exemptions will be implemented at ALL highways from 12:01 am on Monday, Dec 23, to 11:59 pm the following day.

However, road users who will be using the toll plazas at Sultan Iskandar Building and Tanjung Kupang in Johor Bahru are NOT exempt from paying the fares, reported BERNAMA.

Alexander also advised all road users to ensure they have sufficient balance in their Touch N’ Go cards and plan their journeys ahead.

Over two million vehicles were expected to use the highways daily as travellers travel across the peninsular for Christmas celebrations on Wednesday and the year-end school holidays.

 

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) has directed all highway concessionaires to make thorough preparations, to ensure a smooth traffic flow during the holiday season.
