Announced on their official Instagram page, Good Vibes Festival 2024 (GVF 2024) is set to make an epic comeback this year from 20 – 21 July. The best part is that the festival is returning to the chilly hills of Genting Highlands @ Resorts World Awana – GHPO Bus Parking!

Based on what we know so far of GVF 2024, it looks like it’s going to be a rollicking good time for anyone going, with the world’s best music being brought directly to our tanah air. Curious? Read on to find out all the juicy details of GVF 2024!

1. New and returning world-class music acts!

GVF2024 Russ crowd 2

Good Vibes Festival’s signature music blend of indie, electronic, R&B and hip-hop from all across the globe is in full force for GVF 2024, with the likes of Joji (back for the third time!) and J Balvin making an appearance.

The full lineup for GVF 2024 was officially unveiled on 8 May, and quite a few of these artists caught our eyes ah.

Joji: The master of lo-fi emo

GVF2024 Joji

The Good Vibes Festival alumnus is no stranger to Malaysian music lovers, having performed here more-than-a-few times to a squealing crowd – he actually made his debut performance in Malaysia at Good Vibes 2019! Joji has come a long way since his days as an Internet God – his latest hit single “Glimpse of Us” is the first song by an Asian artist to reach number one on Spotify’s Global chart for 10 days straight, and it marks the first time an Asian solo artist reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Catch a glimpse of us pls, Joji-san!

Russ: Lone wolf with a bite

GVF2024 Russ 1

Did you know Russ self-financed and self-released his first 11 albums before signing with a major record label? Three of them were even certified platinum and gold certifications! Even when the rapper started performing professionally, he still prefers to be hands-on with every aspect of his music, going so far as producing; writing; and mixing, mastering and engineering his sounds. Finally, we get to see the legend perform his hit songs LIVE like “Losin Control”, “What They Want” and “Best On Earth”.

Peggy Gou: IT girl boss (also DJ)

GVF2024 Peggy Gou 1

Independent record label owner, fashion trendsetter, successful DJ – is there anything Peggy Gou CAN’T do? Drawing from her lifelong experience raving in the hottest nightclubs, Peggy’s signature “K-house” genre gave rise to numerous hit singles like “It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)”, “Starry Night” and “(It Goes Like) Nanana”, with the latter going so viral on TikTok that even Calvin Harris himself remixed it!

J Balvin: The Prince of Reggaeton

GVF2024 J Balvin Rolling

Leading the next generation of reggaeton, J Balvin is a music/fashion icon in his home continent of South America, having won ELEVEN Billboard Latin Music Awards and SIX Latin Grammy Awards and even received four Grammy Award nominations – it’s no wonder that he got to collaborate with several international superstars like Beyoncé and Dua Lipa! With a more ‘gentle’ approach to reggaeton, J Balvin is known for his melodic tunes, head-bangin’ beats, and tender vocals that truly are Good Vibes.

Plus, there will be other big international names who will be performing at Good Vibes Festival 2024, including South Korean rapper/actress Bibi, alt-pop singer Alec Benjamin and indie pop band Peach Pit.

2. Sapot lokal acts lah!

And of course, what’s a Malaysian music festival without our very own local flavours? Both returning and newcomer Malaysian talents across various genres will be gracing the stage of Good Vibes Festival, including:

Talitha.: Malaysia’s indie darling

GVF2024 Talitha

With a musical journey spanning over a decade, Talitha’s signature mix of R&B, indie, pop and acoustic has won Malaysians’ hearts over and over again since her debut single “Okay” was released in 2016. The bubbly singer-songwriter recently dabbled in dream pop and electro-pop in her latest full album “Hello, Talitha.”, which was released late last year.

Emo Night KL: Pump it up with your fave emo songs

GVF2024 Emo Night KL 1

KL’s first, largest & longest-running pop punk party will be making a return to Good Vibes Festival 2024, with Aida, Samantha and Lynd turning up your favourite emo songs – ranging from Bring Me The Horizon to Avril Lavigne – to sing and headbang along too.

Spooky Wet Dreams: The chillest indie-alternative jiwang

GVF2024 Spooky Wet Dreams

Spooky Wet Dreams is a six-piece indie alternative band from Klang Valley that was formed in 2015. Founded by twins Shazwan Zulkiffli (Ze) and Shazwani Zulkiffli (Nani), the group has been actively gigging around South East Asia since the release of their debut EP, Cold Pizza Party.

Jovynn: From TikTok to DJ-ing in Dubai

GVF2024 Jovynn

Jovynn began her career as a TikTok star vlogging her everyday life, but when she discovered DJ-ing during the pandemic, it’s her song mashups that propelled Jovynn to the next level of stardom.  Known for her distinctive lo-fi beats and mesmerising performances, Jovynn’s crowning achievement so far is getting to perform in SUPERVERSE at Dubai.

Other Malaysian acts include returning favourites like FORCEPARKBOIS, Mardiana, I-SKY, and Mr Yang, as well as newcomers such as Cherry Bomb, GARD WUZGUT, TY:DEL and Alfie Rrari.
