Golden retrievers may not retrieve gold, but they apparently do have a natural tendency to go grab (or fetch) things, especially after it has been thrown.

And while these things might not be gold, sometimes what your golden retriever grabs could actually translate to money.

According to the 山海视频 Weibo account, a woman in China was lucky enough to win 1,000 yuan (RM667.48) after her golden retriever ran into a lottery store and stole a ticket. She couldn’t return the ticket as the dog’s teeth had ended up scratching it, so she paid for it and ended up winning the money!

They wrote, “Ms. Lin said that when she went shopping, her dog got loose from its leash and ran directly into a lottery store next to where she was and bit into a lottery ticket. Because it had scratches, she bought the ticket. She scratched it off and won 1,000 yuan (RM667.48)!”

Baffled by the win, she decided to try her dog’s luck again!

“I was very surprised and happy. I had scratched the lottery many times and never won such a large amount of money. I took my dog with me the next day and he won another 30 yuan (RM20) by biting a lottery ticket.”

“I used the money from the lottery to buy snacks, canned food and extra meals for my dog,” Ms. Lin said.

We’re glad she spent the money by pampering her dog with treats.

Be right back, we’re going to go adopt a golden retriever and take it for some Sports Toto action.
