Malaysian actress Rozita Che Wan has been making headlines recently after it was revealed that she, alongside her son, Ammar Effendy, have an outstanding debt with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) worth nearly RM1 million since 2017.
The local celebrity and her family kept their silence since the controversy but have since made several public statements, notably by her husband Mohamad Zain Saidin, who said that they never meant to flaunt wealth, and Rozita herself, who denied that their home was seized by the authorities.
Rozita denies claims that she had never repaid the RM1 million debt to MARA
Recently, Rozita addressed the controversy again, this time by posting to her Instagram account to debunk claims by the media about her nearly RM1 million debt to MARA.
Harian Metro reported that through her Instagram account, the actress uploaded a screenshot of a local media report that claimed she had never made any repayments for the MARA loan.
She then denied the claim, telling those who made it to get their facts right. Moreover, she also said that one day, she will release a statement telling the truth of the whole ordeal.
Rozita asserted,
“Please correct your statement and get the facts right. One day, I’ll release a statement with the whole truth.”
As of the time of writing, the actress has yet to directly address the controversy or meet with MARA to discuss the debt, despite being urged to do so by the MARA Chairman and that the agency has started legal proceedings against her.
