The homeless community in Malaysia are often time disregarded by their loved ones and the rest of society. Though, thankfully, there are groups of kindhearted people out there who have concern for and take care of them, and that can really make an impact.

Among these groups of kindhearted people is the team behind Kechara Soup Kitchen and boy, do they really make an impact.

Taking to their Facebook page, Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) shared how they were visited by a former homeless man who they had helped. Following their assistance, he had then gotten his life together and had returned to show his gratitude to them with gifts!

They wrote, “This is Mr. Lee, and ex-client. He was previously homeless and received hot food that KSK Society provides daily. Last year, we assisted him with replacing his MyKad and he went on to get a job, rent a room and rebuild his life.”

“When he received his first pay cheque, he came back and gifted the team with 2 packets of orange juice. A few days ago, he came back and gifted the team with a Musang King durian! This was in appreciation of all the help he received from KSK Society during his days as a homeless man.”

It is incredible to know that Mr. Lee had taken the necessary steps, with the help of KSK, to make a change for the better.

“We are so happy that Mr. Lee is now living a life of self-worth and self-dignity. Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who have been a part of KSK Society to have enabled this,” they added.
