Recently, a food influencer by the name Ti Zi from China has filmed a video of her ‘unboxing’ a great white shark she ordered, before cutting it up and cooking it.

In the video, she introduced that she has bought a human bred shark from a shop and begin to ‘unbox’ the shark.

Then, she brought the shark back to her relative’s place and proceeded to cut it into two halves.

She decided to cook the shark in 2 different ways:

  • Grilling it on a DIY barbecue grill: She started off by slicing the shark tail and then securing it on a grill with metal coils. Then she brought the shark on a flaming grill and begins adding in excessive amounts of spices.

  • Cooking it in Mala Oil: She started with a hot wok adding in oil, and then some herbs and spices before adding the shark’s head.

After it was done cooking, her relatives indulged in the Mala Oil shark head while she went straight in with the shark tail.

After taking the first bite, she said:

“This is the best tasting fish I’ve ever had. The meat is so chewy and bouncy.”

Following the incident, she was arrested by the authorities for intentionally harming a protected species. Her account on Douyin has been suspended since and if found guilty, she will be facing a 10-year-imprisonment charge.

This is a gentle reminder to always think before doing something and don’t harm animals in general.
