Remember back in May when Grant Gustin a.k.a ‘The Flash’ from the hit American TV series got engaged to one of our very own Malaysian beauties, Andrea Thoma? They make a very beautiful couple!
Well, it appears that Grant Gustin will be visiting his lovely fiancée’s home this December and he can’t wait to come!
Yes, the couple will be coming to Malaysia in December and Gustin has said that he “can’t wait to visit Malaysia in December to savour the local cuisine and soak up the culture.” Even Gustin knows that we have some of the best food!
According to The Star, Gustin told the Hollywood Foreign Press Association about his impending visit at Comic-Con International 2017 and how much he is looking forward to the trip here.
He said, “Trying new food usually scares me but when it comes to the taste of Malaysian foods that I have had, I am into it.”
Meanwhile, his fiancée, who was at the press conference, cringed when he announced their visit, but Gustin reassured her and said, “It’s OK, honey, because it’s going to be announced at some point.”
Gustin also revealed more details about their relationship, specifically how the couple met and it was adorable.
He said, “She went to school with my brother in Norfolk, Virginia, where I am from. I didn’t know her then. The two of us connected via social media because she was my brother’s friend.”
“I was with him in New York at the time and she popped up on my page, and I was like, ‘Who is this?’ And he gave me the rundown a little bit, and I followed her, and the rest is history.” Awww!
In preparation for his visit, the actor has also taken some time to learn some Malay but he is excited to discover more of our country after Thoma described it to him. He explains,
“In December, we will see what it is about the culture that I would love, and I am sure there are things that I will love. I have learned some Malay, but it’s pretty basic stuff, little phrases, which I always get wrong.”
Thoma’s Malaysian blood comes from her Sabahan mother, who works as a physical therapist. This makes Thoma half-Kadazan, a fact that she proudly displays on her social media as she dons the traditional costume in a photo.
We’re sure Grant Gustin will have the time of his life exploring our country when he makes his way here later this year!
