Let’s hope the authorities find this man soon as if he is indeed Covid-19 positive, we don’t want another subcluster to emerge!
Sabah authorities have been on the lookout for a Filipino man since Friday (17 April 2020) who escaped a quarantine order in Lahad Datu. According to NST, The man in his 30s, identified only as ‘Jul’ fled the Felda Sahabat Health Clinic in Lahad Datu after undergoing a Covid-19 health screening.
In the 9pm incident, the man was told that he had to be placed at a quarantine centre but defied the orders and ran away.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Nasri Mansor said of the incident,
“During the process of managing (the man’s entry to the quarantine centre), he was asked to wait. Instead, he is reported to have fled the clinic.”
He further added that the police tried to track the man down in his living quarters but he had left with his wife.
