Last weekend, TGV Cinemas found themselves under fire after allegedly restarting the Batman movie 45 minutes later for latecomers. TGV has since responded, apologised and explained what really took place during the incident.
Last night (9 March), as a token of apology, TGV made a witty & surprising announcement via their Facebook account.
“Everyone is V-V-VIP!”
Following the recent misunderstanding involving “ghost VIPs”, TGV has decided to give away 1 movie ticket for everyone and the offer only lasts a day, which is TOMORROW (Friday, 11 March)! All you have to do is simply sign up or log in to the Movie Club and receive a free movie ticket with any ticket purchase.
TGV also assured that no one will have the luxury of having the movies restarted for them, regardless of their status. In the meantime, they also clarified that technical errors do happen from time to time and the movie ushers are always doing their best to rectify the issues.
Here’s the backstory
TGV Cinemas in VivaCity Mall, Kuching went viral over the weekend when they restarted The Batman movie 45 minutes in for some late “VIPs”. On Monday (7 March), they clarified the situation and revealed that due to technical issues, the Batman movie scheduled for 7:15pm could not start on time. However, the issue was immediately solved and the session was able to start on time.
Unfortunately, some miscommunication occurred and some movie ushers thought the movie would still be delayed. At this time, some movie patrons were already in the theatre hall while the majority of the patrons were still waiting at the foyer. They entered the hall when the movie was already playing.
Regardless, if you’re interested in a free movie ticket from TGV, don’t forget to visit the cinema near you tomorrow to catch the movie!
