Elderly Woman Robbed In Front Of Her Son’s House In Bright Daylight In Cheras

Nowhere is safe, not even a step outside your own house.

An elderly woman was left traumatised when she was robbed right in front of her son’s house in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras on Saturday (26 March) around 9 am.

According to a police statement, the robbery was recorded by the public and went viral on social media. The video showed the robbers snatching 2 necklaces and cutting off the victim’s bracelets with a cutter before fleeing on their motorcycle with a fake registration number.

The victim suffered injuries to her hands and the total loss was estimated at RM25,000. As of now, police are still tracking down the 2 suspects at large and the public is urged to come forward and provide further information on the incident by contacting the Cheras District Police Headquarters at 013-2165881.

The video has since gone viral and gained the attention of the netizens, who have mostly advised to NOT wear jewelleries outdoors as they attract robbers easily.

“At least she’s safe. Don’t fight, life is more important & always be aware of your surroundings.”

“Don’t put on your jewellery too often. It’s dangerous. Just keep it for rainy days.”

Robbers are getting more and more notorious. It’s important to remain vigilant and not to put up a fight especially if the perpetrators come with weapons.
