Recently, an alarming video clip on TikTok showing a woman rudely scolding and belittling her husband at a launderette went viral.
Through the video uploaded by @aiz.aqwa, the woman can be seen yelling at her husband and bossing him around as he innocently puts clothes in the washing machine.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Aqwa said that he recorded the incident when he was waiting for his clothes to be done at a self-service laundry store in Desa Pandan, Ampang on the morning of April 15th.
While waiting for his clothes, the random woman first came into the launderette followed by a hunchbacked elderly man carrying multiple bags of clothes to be washed.
Because the elderly pair had so many loads of washing to do, the old man had to go in and out of the store to transfer all the clothes they brought. Moreover, they took up 2 washing machines so they took awhile to complete the errand.
The old woman’s behaviour escalates when she starts to raise her voice even more when instructing the man to unfold the clothes one by one before putting them into the washing machine. At this point, Aqwa said that everyone else at the launderette was starting to get uncomfortable and annoyed at the woman for her rudeness.
“If you want to be noisy, be noisy at home!”
One of the other customers at the launderette had finished washing her clothes and wanted to leave but the angry makcik was blocking her way and still belittling the old man. So the customer says to the old woman, “Makcik, move a bit to the side. If you want to be noisy, be noisy at home” and left.
Instantly the old lady started spewing more insults aloud, she cursed the lady that asked her to move and blamed her husband for the lady’s comments.
She also said that she regrets marrying the old man and exclaims that “If you really want to take care of him, then do it! I don’t care! He makes my life difficult”
Aqwa told us that the makcik even had the gull to tell other customers at the launderette to “not be nosy”. Aqwa said that he remembers this line vividly because he was so shocked that the woman would say that and yet be so openly brazen with her uncivilised behaviour.
“I wanted to call her out but I thought that it would probably delay the situation as I just wanted to leave as soon as possible”, said Aqwa.
“I just recorded and snapped some pictures to send to my mom and texted her the encounter I experienced.”
Aqwa shared with us that this was the first time he ever witnessed a case of domestic abuse.
Even more alarming, Aqwa said that people in the area have also commented that they had similar experiences of witnessing the same verbally abusive makcik at the launderette before.Â
