About 2 weeks ago, cosmetics tycoon, Nur Sajat had revealed via her Instagram account that she has settled down in Australia and “divorcing” Malaysia for good, following the grant of asylum from the Human Rights Watch Group.

While she may have cut off her connections entirely with the country, the police are still persistent in trying to bring her back to the country, according to the laws and protocols of Australia, of course.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director, Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said that as of now, the only confirmation on Sajat’s whereabouts is through her social media postings. As the protocol dictates PDRM to obtain the information officially, they had informed the Malaysian embassy in both Thailand and Australia for confirmation, reported Astro Awani.

“Once she is confirmed to be in Australia, we will provide information to authorities there. However, it is up to them to react to the information given or not,” he added.

In late September, Sajat was arrested by Thailand Immigration for possessing an invalid passport but was later released on bail. She is wanted in Malaysia for allegedly obstructing the authorities with force from carrying out their duties. However, she later revealed that what really took place was the opposite as she was molested by some of the officers during a raid in January.

Datuk Seri Abd Jalil also assured the people that investigations on these accusations will be done from all angles, hence the urge and reminder to Sajat to return to her country and assist on the matter.

Additionally, Sajat is also wanted by the police as she had failed to present appear for a re-mentioning at the Shah Alam Syariah High Court, for the charge of dressing as a woman at a Yasin recitation and prayer back in February 2018. You can read more about all the issues associated with Sajat that had led to her escape here, despite her denial of running away from the country.
