During the MCO, many of us have realised that our delivery riders are actually an integral part of our lives. From delivering our online shopping stuff to food, we need to appreciate our abang delivery a little bit more. Maybe even give them a generous tip once in a while?
There is, however, a risk when interacting with our beloved abang delivery. This is shown by an incident that has happened in Delhi. A pizza delivery boy who was tested positive for Covid-19 after showing all the symptoms for about 20 days have put 72 families in quarantine too.
As reported by India Today, these families were identified by the authorities based on the areas that he had visited in the past 20 days. Zomato, a food delivery service there, also issued a statement regarding the delivery boy as some of the deliveries requested are made via the platform. Zomato wrote,
“We are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that our customers, our delivery partners and our restaurant partners are safe.”

17 other delivery boys are also put in quarantine as they have in one way or another interacted with the boy who tested positive. Let’s take this as a reminder to practice social distancing when interacting with any delivery riders. Always choose to have your items to be dropped at the entrance of your home and do sanitize them properly.
