Dad in Penang Loses RM1.5K, Finds Out His 6yo Daughter Took the Money to Help Her Friends in Need

Kids RARELY have ill intentions towards others and they always mean well. Due to their pure, innocent soul, they rarely think about the consequences of an act even if they only want to help.

Just recently, on his TikTok account @wanisckt, a Malaysian father in Penang, Erwan shared his experience of losing RM1,500 worth of cash that he kept in his house. It didn’t take long for him to find the money but the discovery was shocking. Erwan found out that his daughter stole the money which she had it hidden in her bag.

Pieces of RM50 banknotes were found scrambled in her bag.

To have a child be able to steal that amount of money is alarming but she had a reason why, and it’s really not what you are thinking.

“They need help, daddy”

We would like to reiterate that regardless of the reason, stealing is NEVER an option. Instead of going mad and punishing his daughter, Erwan sat down and spoke to his daughter about it, and asked what exactly happened.

His daughter, who is only 6 years old told him that she stole the money because other students needed help. 

While giving his daughter a lecture by reminding her not to repeat the same mistakes, the little girl sat down quietly and nodded her head.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Erwan said that he managed to get his money back but not entirely because his daughter has given some of them to her friends who needed help.

“I got back around RM700. The remaining has been given away to her friends. Some of them got RM100, others got RM200.”

The man also said that other parents wanted to return him the money but Erwan decided to give them away as a “donation”.  Her teacher only found out about the matter when she was told by Erwan, but he refused to disclose the name of the school because he did not want to paint them in a bad light.

What gave it away?

Suspicions arose when the young girl constantly told Erwan about how she often treated her friend to food at school, and how she always helped those in need. Erwan, who runs his own Char Kuey Teow business in Penang told WORLD OF BUZZ that he always put his sales money aside to pay bills but in this case, it slipped his mind. 

When he fetched his daughter from school 1 day, that was when he found out about the money.

The little girl may be too young to understand the hardships in earning a living, but she definitely knows when people are in need of help. Again, stealing is never right, even if you have the intention of Robin Hood.
