On April 25, police found 2 bodies at a house in Semenyih after a 48-year-old man reported a strange odour coming from the house.

Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, said the man had reported that his 53-year-old sister and her 25-year-old nephew hadn’t been seen around the area for nearly 10 days.

They were found dead on the living room floor

With help from the Fire and Rescue Department, the sister’s house was broken into, and 2 bodies were found lying on the living room floor. Both were later confirmed dead.

An inspection of the house found no signs of a break-in or anything missing, and the home was locked from the inside.

Police have seized a few items for further investigation, but no arrests have been made yet.

The motive is still being investigated

Naazron added that they’ve already taken statements from 5 people, including the victims’ neighbours and family members, according to Sinar Harian. But the motive is still being investigated.

“Several more witnesses will be called in on April 28 (Monday) to give their statements and help with the investigation,” he said.

The bodies were sent to the Forensic Department at Serdang Hospital for autopsy on April 26 at 2.30pm, and it was confirmed that both of them died from suffocation.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact the nearest police station or the case investigating officer, ASP Umesh A/L Ratnam Kumar, at 012-6114900.
