Cancer did not deter an SPM candidate in Kelantan from passing with flying colours.

19-year-old Mohamed Adam Baihaqi Mohamed Zadro had to miss classes for one year, but still managed to score all As for SPM.

While feeling grateful for the results, Adam himself was also shocked because he never thought he would live that long on borrowed time.

“I never thought I would be able to sit for SPM when I was diagnosed with cancer on March 2023.”

“I had to constantly visit Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II to treat my cancer, which was why I had to skip classes for about a year.”

The cancer diagnosis was not the only thing that broke Adam’s heart. He also admitted to feeling sad when seeing his peers furthering their studies after sitting for SPM 2023. Thankfully, the Almighty had another plan for Adam.

In July 2024, Adam was officially cancer-free.

Adam, who has always wanted to be a teacher, immediately set plans to sit for SPM, which commenced in December last year. Before the major examination, Adam used all the time he had to revise every day.

“I reminded myself of my parents’ sacrifices to keep myself motivated.”

“My parents spent a lot on my cancer treatment and they are only working regular jobs. The fact that they would do anything for me, that’s how I motivated myself to study hard.”

With his dedication and help from his peers and teachers, Adam scored a total of 7 As, as reported by Sinar Harian.

“I did not expect this at all.”

“Every test from God is not an obstacle for us to succeed. What’s important is to maintain a good relationship with God, parents, teachers, and friends,” Adam expressed.

Congratulations, Adam and those who scored good results in SPM 2024!

If you didn’t get the results you hoped for, it is not too late to improve yourself. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
