Breakups are never easy but most of the time, we learn from the past and we should let bygones be bygones. For a Malaysian woman, she couldn’t let the past stay in the past when a man from her past returned and asked for something.

This is not the case where the man returns to fix a relationship but he returns to ask for a gift back! In her Facebook post, the woman, Tracy said that Peter (not his real name) gave her Angpow for her birthday in the sum of RM1K. That was 3 years ago. This time, Peter texted her out of the blue and asked Tracy to return the money back.

“I have some problems with my business, and since we’re just friends, you can just return me that RM1,000”, Peter told Tracy.

However, as Tracy was driving, she couldn’t reply to Peter immediately, who then texted Tracy’s best friend and asked her to get Tracy to check her DM. Her friend sarcastically asked Peter,

“Have you heard of anyone asking the recipient to return a gift?”

Peter casually replied, “Yes”.

When Tracy read the text, she immediately asked for his account number and Peter had the audacity to ask, “What time will you transfer the money to me?”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Tracy revealed that the man is not her ex-BF, but he merely had a crush on her back then. He expressed his romantic feelings towards her 3 years back, which Tracy rejected. She also insisted to return the Angpow to him but the man said no.

After returning the money, Tracy texted Peter and gave him a friendly reminder.

“In the future, don’t give anything to a girl if you’re trying to get her to be your girlfriend. Some things are not returnable once they’re given out.”

She continued, “It’s funny that you came back for the money when you willingly gave it to me back then.”

Tracy also told WORLD OF BUZZ that after she had returned the money, the man stopped looking for her.

In her Facebook post, Tracy also said that a man should have some dignity and reminds others that if they have the intention to ask for the gifts back from the recipient, then they should ditch the idea of giving a present to someone.

Ladies, have you ever faced a similar situation? Gentleman, would you ask for the gift to be returned years later?
