Known for revolutionizing Malaysian football in his duty as the Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) owner, HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim is making strides in the sport of competitive polo as well.
Featured in The Star, Tunku Ismail bagged his 50th Polo championship abroad as Johor Ellerstina defeated Nova Java 11-9.
The Crown Prince of Johor who previously won competitions in India (39 Championships), Australia (6 Championships), Singapore (2 championships) and Argentina (2 championships), won his 50th after scoring four goals at the final in Pilar, Buenos Aires.
Tunku Ismail himself became the final’s top scorer and overall top scorer of the tournament at 18 goals, proving that he has still got it after a two-year absence from the sport.
The 22 Goal Ellerstine Cup is the 50th championship that Tunku Ismail has won abroad.
