The couple violated the Movement Control Order (MCO) and the inspection found that both of them failed to show any legal cross-state documents, said Yan District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Shahnaz Akhtar Haji.

The students gave the excuse that they attempted to inter-district travel for a walk. They both admitted that they violated the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Mco Roadblock

The couple was detained and taken to the Kuala Muda District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action. DSP Shahnaz mentioned that they were also given compound fines totalling a maximum of RM5,000 each according to Regulation 4 (1) of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulations (PPDPPB) (No 2) 2021.
