A court in the Sichuan Province of China recently tried a bizarre case in which a fortune teller, Zhou, had lost his life to his angry girlfriend, Jing.

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, the court had previously found the girlfriend guilty of intentional homicide and sentenced her to 14 years in prison. After submitting appeals, the court recently rejected her appeal for a second time and upheld the original verdict.

This comes after the woman had soaked 4 pairs of underwear in paraquat, a herbicide lethal to humans and animals, before gifting it to her now-deceased boyfriend in 2017.

The boyfriend suffered from body ulcers upon wearing the poison-soaked underwear.

She also gave him poisoned syrup meant for a cold, which ultimately caused his death after he was hospitalised in May 2017. The man’s daughter, who felt his death was suspicious, reported it to the police. After investigating, it was concluded that he could have very likely been murdered by his girlfriend.

The woman was taking revenge

It is believed that the girlfriend did so as revenge, as the boyfriend was reluctant to get married. He also allegedly caused her to have a miscarriage as he did not properly care for her.

The duo had met in 2011, when the girlfriend’s mother had approached the boyfriend, who is a fortune teller, in regard to her health.
