Previously, China hit back at Trump’s move to slap a 34% tariff on all Chinese goods by doing the exact same thing by putting a 34% tariff on everything coming in from the United States, starting April 10.
Trump didn’t take it lightly as he fired back, threatening to add another 50% tariff on top if China doesn’t back off the counter-tariff.

China is facing a new tariff once again
Fast forward to April 15, and the White House dropped a bombshell by imposing a new tariff as high as 245% on Chinese goods coming into the United States.
Sin Chew reported that The New York Times confirmed it, however, it doesn’t apply to all Chinese products, but only to medical supplies such as Chinese syringes and needles.
Others include lithium-ion batteries (173%), tuna (170%), wool sweaters (169%), plastic plates (159%), electric cars (148%), and toys (145%).
