Every one of us goes through different trials and tribulations in life. Some achieve success early in life, while others may only find purpose later in life.
For 26-year-old Lim, one of his recent successes was achieved through his love language for his parents – buying them an RM1.5 million semi-D house, which he shared on his Xiao Hong Shu @JS Lim – Official. Many of us were still struggling financially and emotionally when we were 26, and those who are now around that age can probably relate to the struggles.
As for Lim, who is working in the funeral industry, he called this one of the best gifts he has ever given to his parents, and this is not his 1st property.
“This is actually the 2nd house that I bought. I bought the 1st one for investment purposes.”
Everything was achieved through Lim’s effort and hard work, without any shortcuts taken.
“It feels so good to rely solely on yourself.”
It wasn’t easy for Lim to be financially successful in life, and he has his life principles to be thankful for.
“You work hard, or life will be hard on you”
Lim revealed that he wasn’t born with a silver spoon. Life wasn’t all easy on him and he started working as early as 13 years old, when he was only in Form 1.
“I utilised the school holidays for work to help ease the burden at home.”
Lim’s father suffered hip injuries after a workplace accident, so he had to stop working, which motivated Lim to start earning money at an early age.
“Since then, I realised how important it is to be financially stable on your own.”
Working in the funeral industry for 9 years now
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Lim said that the new house for his parents is located somewhere in Johor Bahru. He also revealed that he has been working in the funeral industry for 9 years now.
Lim also shared with WORLD OF BUZZ about his life principles, where he believes that we should work hard not just for the sake of our parents, but also the future generations.
“In 3 generations, one is bound to work hard. It’s either your parents continue to do so for you, or your kids in the future suffer for you.”
He also urged everyone out there to chase their dreams, regardless of how far-fetched they may seem.
Of course, a house is not the only way to express your love and gratitude to your parents. If they’re still alive and well, why not spend some time with the elderly? The quality time alone is one of the best ways to show love.
