A luxury vehicle was recently seized and taken to the Kedah State Road Transport Department (JPJ) Impound Depot for further investigation.
In a Facebook post, JPJ Kedah shared that a Mercedes-Benz sedan was stopped by enforcement officers as part of ‘Ops Luxury’ after it was spotted being driven suspiciously.

Driver found to be a foreign national without a valid license
During the inspection, JPJ officers requested the driver to produce his identification and driver’s license, but he was unable to do so.
The driver eventually admitted that he did not have a valid driver’s license and was identified as a Cambodian national.
“A Mercedes-Benz E200, being driven suspiciously, was stopped by enforcement officers from the Kedah State JPJ during Ops Luxury. The driver admitted that he did not have a valid driver’s license and is a Cambodian national,” the post read.

Vehicle cited for several offences
Further checks revealed that the vehicle had committed several offences under the Road Transport Act 1987. Most notably, the Motor Vehicle License (LKM) or road tax and insurance had both lapsed since 2 April 2025.
“A summons was issued, and the vehicle was taken to the Kedah State JPJ Impound Depot for further investigation.
“JPJ Kedah emphasised that the department will not compromise with any vehicle owner who breaks the law, regardless of the type or value of the vehicle.”
