The Ministry of Finance has announced the initiatives that will encompass Budget 2022.
Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz revealed the initiatives during Parliament, where he shared that the theme for Budget 2022 will be ‘Keluarga Malaysia, Makmur Sejahtera’.
Among the initiatives mentioned is the Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM), to assist everyday Malaysians through their struggles.
Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM)
- Households with three children and above, with a total household income of less than RM2,500, will receive RM2,000.
- Households with up to two children, with a total household income of less than RM2,500, will receive RM1,500.
- Households with no children, with a total household income of less than RM2,500, will receive RM1,000.
- Elderly B40 community members will receive RM300 a month.
- Single parents that earn RM5,000 and below will receive RM500.
Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul went on to share that the assistance provided via BKM will be significantly higher than that of Budget 2021, or Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR).
