In the wee hours of the morning on 14 April, a man fired 2 shots at his wife at the KLIA 1 Arrival Hall, one of them missed while the other hit someone else.
According to ASTRO AWANI, the victim is the woman’s bodyguard and he sustained serious injuries due to the gunshot.
The Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that the incident took place at around 1.15 am.
“Investigations showed that the Malaysian man was trying to shoot his wife wo was waiting for the arrival of an umrah group.”
“However, her bodyguard got shot instead and he suffered serious injuries. The man then ran away after the incident.”
The bodyguard then received first aid before he was sent to a nearby hospital. Datuk Hussein Omar Khan adds,
“The motive is still unknown but this case has been classified as a murder attempt.”
He also clarified that this case is unrelated to terrorism and urged the public to not make any unfounded speculation.
In an update by BERNAMA, the police have launched an operation to track down the suspect and it is believed that he has gone up north.
This case is currently being investigated as attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code and Firearms Act.
