National weightlifter Bonnie Bunyau Gustin made history again, after winning gold at the 2022 Asia Oceania Open Para Powerlifting Championship in Pyeongtek, South Korea.
Conquering the men’s 72 kilogramme category, he recorded his best lift at 213kg on his third attempt.
Here is a video of his astonishing feat.
In the video, the commentator mentioned that there is only one Bonnie Gustin, the Asia Oceania champion, World Champion and Paralympic Champion.
A force to be reckoned with, he beat six other competitors. This was not the first time for him too!
Bonnie previously won gold in the 2021 World Powerlifting Championship in Tbilisi, Georgia, and the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2021.
Taking to Twitter, @Powerlifting tweeted, “Day 3, ends as expected with Bonnie Gustin winning another Asian title to go along with his world and Paralympic championships.”
Let’s hope that Bonnie will continue garnering the support he needs to keep going.
