In another mix-up with the Jalur Gemilang, TCE Baby Expo which is happening at a major shopping mall in KL was forced to apologise after one of its exhibitors displayed the national flag without the crescent moon.

A display of the Malaysian flag behind the stage at the Singapore Lactation Bakes (SLB) booth went viral on social media, missing the crescent moon and sparking public criticism. The design only showed 14 stripes and a 14-pointed star.

In a statement, the expo organisers acknowledged the sensitivity of the issue and the offense it caused to Malaysians. They quickly shut down the kiosk of SLB.

Even though the content came from the exhibitor, we take this seriously because TCE Baby Expo is built on trust, and your trust matters to us. We ask for patience as we resolve this matter,” they said.

The video showing the flag has been removed, and TCE Baby Expo is conducting an internal investigation, working with all parties involved to ensure proper action is taken. They are also reviewing their content review process to prevent future incidents.

“We apologise for what happened and will continue to protect the dignity and identity of the country.”

Meanwhile, SLB has also issued a statement on the matter. “We acknowledge the importance of the Jalur Gemilang as a symbol of Malaysia’s identity, heritage, and unity,” they stated.

“It was never our intention to disrespect or undermine this important national symbol,” they added.

“We deeply regret the unintentional error that occurred during the creative process, and we take full responsibility for the mistake. The video has been removed.”
