Malaysian online shoppers can finally rejoice as one of the world’s biggest e-commerce platforms is finally making its way to our shores!
Amazon, in partnership with local e-commerce platform, iPrice Malaysia, have revealed that their services will soon be available in Malaysia by late 2017.
With the online retail giant making its way to the country, Malaysians can soon get millions of local and international products delivered to their households on the same day as they’re ordered!
In conjunction with the upcoming opening of the online store, iPrice released screenshots of what amazon.my will look like.
They also announced that one of Amazon Malaysia’s merchants would be none other than Raja Bomoh Sedunia Nujum VIP.
The announcement, released on April Fool’s Day by iPrice, stated that Raja Bomoh would be selling a “Bomoh Search Engine Full Set”.
The set was said to include a pair of fresh coconuts, two “all seeing sticks”, a wooden basket, and a magic carpet, priced at RM67.99.
They even added a magic broom and Harry Potter spells under the “frequently bought together” section on the page!
For those who didn’t get the joke at that point certainly got it when they clicked the link to supposed “customer reviews” of the Bomoh Search Engine Full Set, because the link was actually to a Rick Roll video on YouTube.
Good one, iPrice!
iPrice stated that this platform will be guided by Amazon’s four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking.
They also announced that more details of Amazon’s affiliate partnership with iPrice will be revealed in the upcoming AWS Summit on 18th April 2017 at One World Hotel.
We’re pretty sure iPrice was serious about that last bit!
Now, we just can’t wait till we can start shopping!
