In the statement, Pos Malaysia said that they were given instructions by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) that private vehicle owners who have their cars ensured are exempted from renewing their road tax during the MCO.
“Following the Ministry of Transport’s road tax and driver’s licence renewal exemption for MCO 2.0, licenced drivers may all operate their motor vehicles with a valid vehicle insurance certificate (e-cover note).”
However, other services such as vehicle insurance renewals and driver’s licence insurance will still be available at post offices nationwide. “We apologise for any inconvenience caused. For enquiries on other services, kindly reach out to us at AskPos at www.pos.com.my or on your Pos Malaysia mobile app.”
Pos Malaysia also added that customers who have any enquiries related to the subject of road tax renewals or exemptions should contact JPJ’s office accordingly.
