According to their Facebook post, the water is suspected to be contaminated due to diesel pollution from the Selangor river.
“Please be informed that water purification plants under SSP1, SSP2 and SSP3 are suspended due to suspected diesel pollution from Sg. Selangor. LUAS, AIR Selangor and authorities involved are conducting investigations to take necessary action immediately.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time this has happened this month. Just a day before the MCO was enforced (17th March), the same three water plants were suspended due to odour pollution from the Selangor River. The affected areas included regions of Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Klang.
Hopefully, this situation is resolved soon!
