With the raising numbers of Omicron cases coming into Malaysia, KKM announced that there will be a freeze on all Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) ticket sales, which includes both land and air travel.
According to Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin the ticket sales freeze will be enforced starting tomorrow till 21 January 2022.
The decision was made following a statement issued by the Singapore Ministry of Health on December 20 regarding a local cluster of Covid-19 in which could possibly be Omicron variants.
“The test results found that 2 of the 3 positive cases indicated a possible Omicron variant and they had no history of traveling abroad,”
However, all travelers who already hold a ticket for a VTL flight or bus journey can continue to travel under the VTL if they meet all other VTL requirements.
The VTL ticket sales will reopen starting 21 January 2022 after further observation on Covid-19 situation from both countries.
Lets be responsible citizens and work together in curbing this pandemic for a better future!
