Just yesterday, a South Korean woman was found dead and tied-up in the bathroom of her hotel room. The incident took place on August 15 at approximately 3.30pm in Genting Highlands.

According to Channel News Asia, the 92-year-old victim known as Xiang Lian Jin was resting with her Malaysian maid in the hotel room while her daughter and granddaughter had gone to the resort.

That was when the suspect, who was armed with a knife, barged into the room .

“While holding them at knifepoint, the suspect allegedly asked the victim and the helper to keep quiet before tying up their hands and legs using ropes and cloth,” said Bentong police chief, Superintendent Mohamad Mansor Mohd Nor.

“The suspect then hit the victim, saying that he was dissatisfied with the victim’s eldest son for always bad-mouthing him,” he added.

The 57-year-old suspect then dragged the poor woman into the bathroom before bashing her until she passed out. He then locked the old woman in the bathroom.

Instead of fleeing the scene, the attacker patiently waited in the room for the 46-year-old daughter to return. He then tied and beat her up as well.

After staying in the room for 16 hours, the suspect finally fled the next morning at 7am, leaving the maid with bruises on her face, body and eye. Unfortunately, the eldest victim succumbed to her injuries and died in the bathroom.

Based on the preliminary investigation, this brutal assault was most likely fuelled by revenge. The police has looked into the CCTV footage to help locate the suspect.

They are now looking for a Chinese national who was born in South Korea, Sung Kyukseok, to assist in the investigation, according to NST.
