Spending time in a different country other than the one we were born and raised in is definitely tough. We’ve got to learn new customs and cultures, and even new languages.

For this ang moh who spent over 4 years in Singapore, he definitely got a good taste of what the island was like, Mothership shared.

So, as he left the country, he decided to write an ‘exit interview’. He expressed some pretty interesting points, which may or may not have triggered some locals.

To be fair, he expressed both the good and the bad to give an impartial review. He had quite a number of nice things to say about the small nation.

But as for his dislikes and criticism, he really slayed the little island into pieces. For starters, he highlighted the extremely expensive rent and how some of the property agents can be pretty awful.

Plus, the racial discrimination also irked him.

Besides that, he had quite a review for the local food and music scene.

He then pointed out some of the local’s very bad habits that put him off. *Beware, some of you may get seriously triggered by this.*

Even the government wasn’t spared. This ang moh fearlessly criticised the political scene in the country albeit in a nicer way.

All in all, the expat seems to have had his fair share of fun while he was there, but also didn’t find it difficult to leave the country.

“Enjoyed my time here, but also happy to move on.”

Many Singaporeans and even expats who are living in the country agreed wholeheartedly with him. But of course, some people still found his review ‘offensive’ to a certain degree and argued back.

One lady said that perhaps the reason he could not make any friends was due to his super atas taste.

If he didn’t make a single friend, could it be he was too busy to socialise, had too high expectations (since he criticised our local bar scene, he probably didn’t mingle that much), or he’s too shy.”

What do you guys think? Do you agree with the things he said about Singapore or was he being too harsh?
