A flight that was just about to take-off turned into a nightmare for 2 passengers after a power bank had caught on fire, injuring them.

According to a report by The Straits Times, Flight TR993 was about to fly off from the Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan, and was supposed to land in Singapore. Though, due to the situation, firefighters were deployed and after the fire was put out, the plane had to return to the tarmac from the runway.

The passengers were then given a medical evaluation where it was decided that they did not need treatment, hence, they chose to continue on with the delayed flight.

The airline, Scoot, has since shared that the flight had safely returned to the gate after a passenger’s portable charger had overheated while the plane was still on the ground.

“Medical assistance has been rendered to the owner of the power bank and his companion, who sustained minor burns to their fingers. We are rescheduling the flight and will provide affected passengers with accommodation and meals,”

“Scoot sincerely apologises for the incident. The safety of our customers and crew is our top priority. Investigations into the incident are underway,” they said.
