Food reviews are crucial, especially for foodies who don’t want to spend a dime at places they don’t deem worthy. However, the manner in which the food review is being done is also important as it may make or break your reputation as a food reviewer.

Just recently, the food reviewer, commonly known as Daddi visited a Western restaurant in PJ with a few other influencers to do a food review video. They had quite a lot on their plates, and with their bare hands, they dipped the food into the yummy sauces before eating them.

It was quite messy, with the gravy and sauces dripping from their mouths. But we must say, the food and the way they were devoured made us hungry! Can’t deny that the dishes look good.

The video was shared on the Twitter page, Jom Kita on December 28, 2022.

It did not take long for the video to go viral, but for all the wrong reasons. Many Malaysians criticised the manner in which the video was done as they said it put off their appetite, instead of elevating their interest to give the food a try.

“Why am I feeling disgusted by this video?”

Another netizen has since commented on the physical appearance of Daddi and reminded him to stop eating unhealthy food.

“The restaurant has paid you guys, at least don’t be so disgusting to show the food that way.”

Many comments have also been removed at the time of writing. You can watch the video below.

Following the massive criticisms, Daddi, whose real name is Rifdi Amri has apologised for the “messy video”, and in his Twitter post yesterday (January 2), he assured that he’s open to accepting criticisms of his food review videos.

“I’ll try my best to change how I do my food reviews to ensure there is more etiquette and quality.”

However, he also had a short reminder for the netizens out there – stop body-shaming.

“However I’m requesting to please stop insulting my physical appearance.”

Just this morning (January 3), Jom Kita also apologised for the matter via a Twitter post.

“We’ve gone a little overboard in the video, but we’ll fix it.”

Regardless of the circumstances, it’s never appropriate to comment on someone’s physicality. Since the food reviewer has apologised, let’s just hope that he’ll re-emerge with new review videos with fresher ideas.
