Good news!

Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has announced that the toll rates for both Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA) and the Kajang-Seremban Expressway (LEKAS) will be reduced starting from 12.01 am on 1 January 2023.

He said that this reduction is made after discussions with the concession company of the highways, IJM Corporation Berhad, reported BERNAMA.

Lekas Highway

The minister added that the reduction is RM0.15 for class 1 vehicles passing through the Loke Yew and Mines toll plazas (North & South) on the Besraya Expressway.

As for LEKAS Expressway, the rate will be reduced from 0.1811 sen/kilometre (km) to 0.1666 sen/km for the closed toll system. The toll rate for the open toll system at Ampangan Toll Plaza will remain as it is.

So from 1 January onwards, class 1 vehicles using any Besraya Expressway toll plaza will only have to pay RM1.85 one way and those who use the entire LEKAS Expressway will pay RM7.80 one way.

As of now, it costs RM2 for class 1 vehicles to use the Besraya Expressway (one-way) and RM8.30 one-way for class 1 vehicles to use the entire LEKAS Expressway.

Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi added that this move is a “caring effort of the government to assist those who are feeling the rising cost of living.”

The Public Works Minister said that he will be working with his ministry to reduce the burden on highway users without neglecting the interests of all parties.

This reduction although small in price will definitely help to reduce the daily costs of any individual who uses those highways.
