Going out on a date with your partner is always a moment to remember and cherish, and it can always be sweet especially if both of you have just started dating each other. But will things turn dull if you find yourself in a loop of going to the same place?

The Facebook page Tan Tan Confessions Malaysia recently shared an anonymous post of a Malaysian woman who grew tired of her boyfriend who would only bring her to the same old place on every single date – 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya.

One Utama

The reason is simple. As a couple who stay in TTDI, the man preferred to drive to the nearest mall, and if you’re staying near the area, you’ll know that it takes less than a 10-minute drive to 1U.

“He has been driving for 4 years, but he only dares to drive to 1U. A little bit further, like Ikea, The Curve, or Kepong, he would reject.”

The quickest route to Sunway from TTDI is the LDP Highway, which the man did not have the guts to drive. Not only that but the woman also complained about how slow he is behind the wheel.

“He drives at only 40 km/h. Sometimes I felt like I could walk faster than the speed of his driving.”

She opted to take Grab, but as the man makes only RM2,500 every month, the fares could be expensive for him. When she offered to pay for the ride, the man refused.

The issue is made worse whenever the couple is late for work, and the man would still drive slowly at his usual “pace”. According to the woman, she would drive by herself if and only if she had a driving license.

The question of “what to eat” can be tough to answer at times, and they both have had their fair share of figuring out what to eat at 1U. When asked to decide on their meals, the man would usually ask his partner to decide, as he was fine with everything.

“But when we are browsing through the menu, he wouldn’t be fine with this and that, and eventually, I would eat more than him.”

The couple who work at the same place also seem not to be getting along well at work as the woman continued to speak about how she wished her boyfriend would suggest some ideas whenever she encounters issues at work. Both of them have been together for only 3 months, but she is unsure if the relationship should go on.

Of repeated dating locations, driving speed, and not being able to be a supportive colleague/boyfriend at work. Do these sound like a red flag to you, or do you think the woman should give the relationship a chance to see where it would lead them?
