Two Suffer Broken Legs As Condominium Lift Plunges From 8th Floor In Kuala Lumpur

Six individuals in Kuala Lumpur suffered the scare of their lives after the lift they were boarding plunged down from the 8th floor to the ground floor after a malfunction. The incident happened in a condominium in Lengkok Thambly Abdullah in Brickfields yesterday.

As reported by Bernama, two of the victims, a woman and a man suffered broken legs while the others thankfully escaped injuries. According to the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM Operations Centre), one of the six individuals that were trapped in the lift when it plunges was a 2-year-old girl.

JBPM Operations Centre said that they receive an emergency call at 9.52pm yesterday and sent out a fire engine with 11 firefighters from the Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue station to the scene. In a statement, JBPM Operation Centre elaborated,

“According to the victim involved, the lift plunged from the eighth floor to the ground floor. The injured man and woman were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment. The rescue operation ended at 11.35pm and the cause of the incident is still under investigation.”
